Composed of high tensile 316 steel wire, most commonly used for rigging. Advantage is acceptible price and longlivetly, but disadvantage is weight per meter and point of extensibility. Do not require lots of maintenance, but beacuse of that owners usually forget to check their conditions. It is recommended to replace wire rigging each 6-10 years (depends on way of sailing).
1x19
Composed of 19 individual strands of high tensile 316 steel. Used in standing and running rigging for shrouds and stays. It is constructed to unlay and relay easily.
7x19
Composed of 7 wires each with 19 individual strands of high tensile 316 steel. Each strand is very thin and allows maximum flexibility. Used in standing and running rigging for moving shrouds, halyards and stearing systems. It is constructed to unlay and relay easily.
7x7
Used in standing and running rigging. Composed of 7 wires each with 7 individual strands of high tensile 316 steel. Used for life lines, can be protected with white plastic cover. Constructed to unlay and relay easily.
Dyform
The integrated strand configuration means greater density through the cross section, resulting in greater resistance to stretch and a higher breaking load than standard 1x19 wire. Used for shrouds, jib stuffers and strays.
As a service center, we follow BSI’s recommendations and guidelines. We are fully backed by the factory and we only use BSI supplied, or approved, materials when doing the refits for new or previously supplied BSI projects. This ensures complete visibility and history of all materials installed in the rigging package.
