Ropes

Racing

Helios

Composition:

  • Cover – 24-plait mixed Technora® or Vectran® and continuous polyester braid.
  • Core – 12 or 16-plait Dyneema® SK78 or SK99 braid, polyurethane-coated and pre-stretched.

Characteristics

High tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Good performance in jammers and winches. Easy to splice braid (improved stripping with its polyurethane coating). Black Technora® and Vectran® are recommended for halyards, whilst yellow Technora® is best for sheets.

Albatros

Composition:

  • Cover - 24-plait continuous polyester braid.
  • Core – 12 or 16-plait Dyneema® SK78 or SK99 braid, polyurethane-coated and pre-stretched.

Characteristics

The 24-plait polyester cover gives the rope and excellent abrasion resistance that goes hand in hand with its high tensile strength, thanks to its Dyneema® core. Easy to splice braid, recommended for sheets and halyards. For running backstays with long splices on thimbles, a Dyneema® SK99 core is recommended.

Minos

Composition:

  • Cover – 24-plait continuous polyester braid.
  • Core – 12-plait Dyneema® SK78 and Vectran® braid.

Characteristics

Used almost exclusively as a halyard, this rope is known for being lightweight and flexible, as well as its very low creep. The mixing of two high performance fibers makes Minos a real multi purpose halyard which provides excellent value for money. It is highly recommended for rope backstays.

Millenium

Composition:

  • Cover – 24-plait Vectran® or Technora® and polyester braid.
  • Core – 12-plait Dyneema® SK78 and Vectran® braid.

Characteristics

The mixing of two fibers in the core and cover makes this hybrid rope a high performance product with negligible creep. It gives the rope a high tensile strength and abrasion resistance, as well as providing good performance in jammers. This easy to splice rope is recommended in Vectran® for halyards and in Technora® for spinnaker guys and inner forestays.

Héolia

Composition:

  • Cover – 24-plait mixed Vectran® or Technora® / Dyneema® SK78 / polyester braid.
  • Core – 12-plait PU coated and pre-stretched Dyneema® SK78 braid.

Characteristics

Heolia® braids were designed specifically for intensive and continuous use. Their mixed fiber cover provides high resistance to abrasion whilst still performing well on winches. The line is easy to splice, and its double braid means that the outer cover can be removed in places.

Lifelines

Composition:

  • Cover with retro reflective flecks – 24-plait coated Dyneema® SK78 braid with 2 retro-reflective threads.
  • Cover without retro reflective flecks – 24-plait coated Dyneema® SK78 braid.
  • Core – 12-plait PU coated and pre-stretched Dyneema® SK78 braid.

Characteristics

This Dyneema® lifeline offers an excellent strength/weight ratio. It’s tougher than steel, and so light that it floats. Hard-wearing, it is rot-proof, U.V. resistant and highly resistant to chemicals. With built in retro-reflective threads, this line is highly visible at night, meaning that when out during hours of darkness, anyone on deck will find it easy to make out the boat’s edges and therefore avoid accidents. Weight-for-weight, Dyneema® is 15 times stronger than steel. It’s clear that these lifelines bring significant advantages over the traditional, heavy, steel wire variants. this difference in weight is crucial, especially when racing, where everything aboard has been fine tuned and stripped out to make the boat as light as possible.

Čista dyneema® - standard

Composition:

  • 16-plait Dyneema® SK78 or SK99 standard braid.

Characteristics

Light and water resistant, high strength braid, with low stretch at break. Low creep. Easy to splice. Good U.V. resistance. Rot-proof and buoyant. The grey polyurethane coating which comes as standard helps improve the rope’s abrasion resistance. Its tight braid means a slightly higher stretch, although it provides better resistance to abrasion. It’s particularly good for kitesurfing. the standard version is ideal for lashing.

Čista dyneema® - racing

Composition:

  • 12-plait Dyneema® SK78 or SK99 racing braid.

Characteristics

Hot coating and pre-stretching improves the braid’s tensile strength and resistance to abrasion when compared to a non pre-stretched braid of a similar diameter. Dyneema® SK78 is strongly recommended for use where a low creep is required. Dyneema® SK99 is preferred for those applications where high tensile strength and low stretch (<3%) are needed. The racing version is ideal for backstays.

D99 Stay

Composition:

  • Cover – 32-plait Dyneema® SK78 braid.
  • Core – 12-plait PU coated and pre-stretched Dyneema® SK99 braid.

Characteristics

This braid makes roping up low stretch standard and running backstays easy thanks to its Dyneema® SK99 core, while the braid’s Dyneema® 32-plait cover provides excellent resistance to abrasion.

Technical covers

Composition:

  • Cover – 24 or 32-plait in a choice of braids (Technora®, PBO®, polyester, etc.).
  • Core – braided polyester.

Characteristics

Developed to replace used covers whilst allowing reuse of the core, but it also works well to reinforce specific sections which require covers or partial over-covers. This makes it ideal for halyards, since much of the line is inside the mast and it is only the working end by the winch which needs covering. Several different covers in various mixes of fibre are available.

Diminution

Composition:

  • Cover – 12-plait Dyneema® SK78 and continuous polypropylene braid.
  • Core – 16-plait continuous polypropylene and/or Dyneema® SK78 braid.

Characteristics

This multi purpose rope has its origins in professional racing. In essence, it allows for tapering by a simple reduction of its diameter, thanks to its easily “removable” core. This also gives it other advantages: namely an improvement in its weight and improved strength whilst maintaining a good diameter for your hands. The Dyneema® core further strengthens the rope and means that it can be used for the more specific purpose of a furling halyard line. Water-repellent, flexible, abrasion resistant.
